KCM Donates to One Way Mission House Orphanage

November 5, 2025

Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) has donated groceries and foodstuffs worth K52,500 to
One Way Mission House in Chililabombwe, reaffirming its commitment to community
development and social responsibility.

KCM’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) Malcolm Mewett, led a team of employees, among
them Dr. John Kunda, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Mr. Brian Siatubi, Corporate Social
Responsibility Manager and Ms. Victoria Kabwe Zimba, Public Relations and
Communications Manager was warmly welcomed by the staff and the children residing
at the house.

Last year in November, the company made a similar donation to the orphanage which
has since seen the number of children increase from 40 to 45, the youngest being eight
months old. The children were overjoyed to see the KCM team, expressing their
gratitude through dance, song and prayer.

Mr. Mewett noted an improvement in the children’s welfare since his last visit and
encouraged them to continue supporting each other, excel in school and build bright
futures for themselves.

This visit and donation highlight KCM’s ongoing dedication to uplifting vulnerable
communities by providing vital resources that enhance the lives and development of
children at the One-Way Mission House.
